Liver Training Treats
(submitted by Betty Lewis)

1 lb chicken liver
2 eggs with the shells
I cup grated cheddar (or other) cheese
fresh parsley
1 clove garlic (optional)
Put these ingredients in the blender or food processor until liquefied.

Transfer mixture to a medium mixing bowl and add flour until the mixture is of a consistency that can be spread on an oiled baking sheet -- it shouldn't be runny. Even better if you use organic unbleached white flour that has some of the bran still in it.

Spread dough on one 11X17 baking/cookie sheet and bake at 325 degrees until just done. It shouldn't bake long enough to get crunchy.

When the sheet of treat mixture has cooled, put it on a cutting board and use a pizza wheel/cutter to cut it first into skinny strips and then cut the strips so that you have little cubes that are about a 1/4 inch in size.

These have to be refrigerated or kept in the freezer. They will get moldy if kept unrefrigerated. Keep them in a ziplock bag in the freezer and just throw a handful into your pocket before going out.

The tiniest morsel seems to be a much coveted delicacy and they are chewy, so giving them doesn't interfere with the flow of training.
