Cheese Dog Biscuits
(submitted by Amy Richardson)

1 cup oatmeal
1 ½ cups meat broth
¼ cup butter or margarine
½ cup powdered milk
1 egg
1 cup grated cheese
1 cup wheat germ
1 cup corn meal
3 cups flour (whole wheat or white)

Heat broth to boiling. Soak oatmeal and butter in hot broth for five minutes. Add powdered milk, egg and cheese and mix well. Add wheat germ and corn meal and mix well. Mix in flour ½ cup at a time until it is all mixed in. Knead for 4 minutes.

Roll out ½" thick and cut. You can use a dog cookie cutter if you want. The recipe fills two big cookie sheets and you can bake them both at once.

Bake at 310° for one hour. Turn off oven and leave in until cool, or at least an hour. I leave them in the oven for hours. They need to be dried out completely in order to keep a long time.

Sunshine Liver Brownies
(submitted by Amy Richardson from Kay Jackson)

These brownies may be cut to any size and will not crumble in your pocket. They also freeze well.

1 lb. of calf or pork liver
1 cup of flour
1/2 cup corn meal
2 Tbsp garlic salt
1 Tbsp garlic powder

Puree all of the above in a food processor. Pour onto a cookie sheet lined with aluminum foil which has been oiled. Mixture will be thick. Press flat and even. Bake at 350 degrees for 20 minutes. Brownies are done when the pink is gone. Do not over bake or the brownies will crumble. Recipe may be doubled.

You can also use fresh garlic instead of the garlic powder, and/or add parsley flakes for color.

"Banana Cubes"
(submitted by Amy Richardson from Bonnie Goodfriend)

Use 1 banana at a time. Slice it and put into a cup or blender. Add about 1 1/2 - 2 cups water. Blend and freeze.

Variations: Instead of bananas use ~
parsley, watermelon, oranges, or lemons.

Use whatever the dogs like.

"Liver Bait Recipe"
(submitted by Amy Richardson from Anita Thompson)

1 lb. liver (beef or chicken)
1 1/2 cups flour (wholewheat)
1 cup cornmeal
1 egg
1 tbsp brewers yeast (opt)
dash of garlic powder

Put liver in the blender and blend it a bit, then add everything else (including egg shells if you want), blend well. Pour onto a flat cookie sheet (greased or sprayed) Bake at 325 degrees for 25 minutes. Score the biscuits while warm.

You can also just use beef heart cooked in water with garlic until done, then slice it up and dry it out a bit in a 200 degree oven. The dogs love this as well and it doesn't seem to go through them as fast.

"Yogurt"
(submitted by Betty Lewis)

Well, *Guess What*? I, who does *no* cooking, make my own yogurt!

Buy a 1/2  gallon of milk. Bring it almost to a boil. Cool it to the point that you can easily put your hands around the pot.

Put starter yogurt (I use Stoneyfield Farms plain) in the milk container. Add the warm milk.

Fill a  Playmate cooler with body temperature water (run your wrist under the water like you do for a baby's bottle). Put the milk container in the cooler. Close the lid and let it sit overnight. Voila! 1/2 gal yogurt.
